Licensed Veterinary Technicians

At Albemarle Veterinary Health Care Center we are very fortunate to have two Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVT's) on our team.  These technicians (which are the equivalent of a registered nurse) are the nurses who care for your pets along with the veterinarians.

They are required to complete two years at one of the two state programs offered at either Blue Ridge Community College or Northern Virginia Community College. Along with completing this program, they are also required to complete an internship at a veterinary hospital and pass a state examination to receive their license. All of our LVT's stay current with new procedures and advancements in the veterinary field by continually taking classes.
