Personal Information:
I had decided I wanted to be a veterinarian when I was 12 years old, and have never regretted that decision. I love being a part of a pet's life, from those pediatric patients to the wonderful geriatric pets that have given so much joy to their families. I grew up with dogs, and since college have had both dogs and cats in my house. I also enjoy working with rabbits, rats, ferrets, guinea pigs, hamsters-those smaller "furry friends" that are also an important part of family life. I'm happy to be in a profession that I still really enjoy, even after 20 years.
My husband Chip and I lived in Santa Cruz, California, from 1990-2008, where I worked in both general veterinary practice, and also worked 5 years at a veterinary radiation/oncology center. We decided to move to the East Coast area to be closer to family. My husband is a nurse practitioner at UVA. We have 2 dogs and 1 cat at the moment, but of course that can change quickly!
In my spare time, I teach dance (tap and jazz), and am also active in local community theater-both performing onstage and working behind the scenes as a choreographer and director. I serve on the Board of Directors of Four County Players in Barboursville.
I look forward to providing your pet with the best veterinary care possible - I know how important your family members are to you.
